What Ever Happened?

What ever happened,
to gadgets & junk.
Shiny old things,
or things that go ‘clunk’
Automobiles,
or whirrly-ma-bobs
Parts that go flying,
or spiders & cobs.
Today or tomorrow,
where have they gone?
Happily ended
or brains & brawn.
Or those people with horses
and carraiges behind
Ive seen them in stories,
and books that i find.
But where have they gone to?
they’re no where in view.
The things that ive heard of
like paper and glue.
Someone once told me
“To be or not-”
Was that the same way
with these items i sought?
Or are they just pending
like the timer with sand
These things that i saw
now all are banned.
Little toy soldiors
and frames filled with glass
Landscapes that’re frozen
and show us our past.
& Round discus CDs
& things with-a strange hue.
Fruits that are shaped weird,
poision chems. too
But weirdest of all
they lived in strange houses.
Pillars in front,
& basements with mouses
Shutters on windows
& locks on their doors
& foundations that cant move,
&solid wood floors
These things that I saw,
must’ve been real.
Maybe Shakespear or Steinbeck
had something with zeal.
Or maybe they didnt,
if not we wont know,
But what ever happened,
long, long ago?
